Hi friends!

This blog post marks the start of a short but exciting chapter in my life. And boy am I excited! So let me begin by apologizing in advance for all the typos, poor grammar, likely blurry photos and videos, and unfiltered comments as the trip progresses.

So let’s jump into it!

Thank you all for your financial support and prayers! I have felt so blessed and encouraged by sharing this news with friends and family. Especially when my mom told Noah (my younger brother) that I was doing World Race and he said “Why would she do that?!?” with quite a bit of judgment and confusion. “She hates running!” As he mistook it for Amazing Race! I assured him I would not be running for 3 months, as I do in fact despise running. After that, he was more excited!

For those who don’t know me as well, my name is Ella! For as long as I can remember I have had a heart for world missions. I live in the beautiful state of Colorado and just adore it! I have called CO home for the past eight years. I was born in Delaware not much more to say there. It’s just Delaware. When I was five years old, God called my family to Nicaragua! What an experience! I loved it! By age 11, I had learned a new language, experienced a different culture, met the Lord, and even had a monkey as a pet (yeah…I was that stereotypical missionary kid). That experience is where my passion for missions started. Once we moved to CO, my family and I started attending a local church called Woodmen Valley Chapel. With Woodmen, I got to go on my first short-term mission trip to Guatemala during my sophomore year of high school. In my senior year, I led a trip to Fort Collins and was honored to lead yet another trip with Woodmen to Zambia this summer. After those trips, I have continued to feel a longing for more! So here I am about to embark on a 3-month long trip to Nicaragua and Guatemala! (I get to go home!!) I couldn’t be more excited!!

I will continue to be writing about my experiences leading up to and during the race so feel free to subscribe with your email on the left side of this page to stay updated!

I am SO thankful for this opportunity and would love to have you join me in it! I would first love your prayers!! Your spiritual encouragement would mean the world to me as I know God will do great things during these next few months. If you also feel led to support me financially as I fundraise to reach $6,000, you can donate online here on my blog or write checks out to Adventures in Missions!

Thank you all SOOO much for taking the time to listen to my story and what is on my heart! I can’t wait to see what God has in store. I am stoked to have you walk alongside me in this journey and leap of faith!

  1. This is absolutely amazing, Ella! I’m beyond proud of you. You’ve been such a guiding light in my life, especially during our time in Zambia this summer. The way you inspired me and everyone around you is something I’ll always carry with me. I have no doubt that you’ll bring that same energy and love to this mission trip, touching even more lives along the way. You’ve taught me so much, and I’m so grateful for the impact you’ve had on me. Keep shining brightly, Ella! You’re making such a difference!
